That return, which has been posted through just 16 games, leaves the one-cap England international just behind Stade Velodrome legend Didier Drogba when it comes to flying starts in the south of France. The 23-year-old winger continues to be billed as a “star boy” by Marseille.

His latest contribution came in a French Cup clash with Saint-Etienne, as Marseille eased their way into the next round of that competition courtesy of a 4-0 win on the road. Greenwood opened the scoring inside 22 minutes, and did so in spectacular style.
