McTominay has been named among the nominees for the Serie A Most Valuable Player award in midfield, capping off a remarkable debut season with title-chasing Napoli. The former Manchester United midfielder has impressed in Italy with a string of standout performances, quickly establishing himself as a key figure in the heart of the Partonopei midfield and playing a vital role in the push to win the Scudetto.

McTominay made a big move to the Serie A last summer, with Napoli paying around €30 million (£26m/$35m) for his services. The Scottish international quickly established himself as the differential player in Antonio Conte's side. Indeed, McTominay has scored 11 goals in 33 games in the league. Napoli have battled hard with Inter and Atalanta for the Serie A title, and hold a slender one-point lead over the Nerazzurri ahead of the final matchday.
