Wolves were deep in relegation trouble during the January window, but they are now 17th and are nine points clear of Ipswich Town in 18th. It would take a remarkable collapse for them to be relegated; Cunha is keeping them afloat, scoring 13 league goals in 26 games.

WHAT CUNHA SAID

Speaking to The Guardian, Cunha said: “I had a lot of offers, but I wouldn’t feel well if I had done it. Some things you can’t contro,l but I couldn’t leave the club in the middle of the season, in a difficult situation, in the relegation zone.

“Now, we’re close to achieving our goal [of staying up]. But I’ve made it clear that I need to take the next step. I want to fight for titles, for big things. I have potential.”

Wolves play West Ham on Tuesday. It remains to be seen where Cunha will move in the summer, but it seems he won't stay for long at Molineux.
